Cairo ICT 2023.....A Brief About It
Under the patronage of Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic of Egypt, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, has inaugurated the 27th edition of the International Technology Exhibition and Conference for the Middle East and Africa (Cairo ICT 2023) at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo from November 19 to 22, 2023.
This exhibition comes in light of exceptional transformations that highlighted the dominance of technology, its importance, and its decisive role in developing countries, securing companies, creating solutions, seizing opportunities, and facing challenges, which prompted the organizers to adopt the slogan “Merging minds and machines for a better world” to be the official slogan in 2023 and the guiding concept for its paths and accompanying activities, including forums, panel sessions, and workshops.
It is worth noting that the 27th edition of Cairo ICT 2023 comes in parallel with the 10th edition of the International Exhibition and Conference on Digital Payments and Digital Inclusion for the Middle East and Africa (PAFIX), sponsored by the Central Bank of Egypt, in addition to the holding of the 8th edition of the Innovation Arena.
In addition, the IntelliCities exhibition, The Healthtech and Insuretech exhibition, the Security and Public Safety Technology Fair & Forum for the Middle East and Africa (DSS), as well as the international conference on satellite and space communications (SATCOM), and Connecta exhibition on entertainment technology, including electronic games, smart devices are held.
Cairo ICT 2023’s Participants
The Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Population, the Ministry of Justice, and the Central Bank of Egypt are at the forefront of the ministries participating in the Cairo ICT 2023 pavilions, in addition to a representation of the Egyptian Armed Forces represented by the Emergency and Safety Network and several government agencies, in addition to the participation of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the Egyptian Space Agency, and a variety of government agencies and institutions most interested in technological development.
About 400 local and global companies, CEOs, and leaders of major companies in technology, financial technology, banking, and insurance in Egypt and the world also participated.
What does Cairo ICT 2023 include?
The Cairo ICT 2023 includes three main halls. The first hall includes satellite companies, financial technology companies, insurance, and health companies. The second hall includes technology providers, information and cyber security companies, and mobile and telecommunications operators. The third hall includes e-gaming companies and the Creativity and Innovation Arena.
The Fields of Discussions in this Exhibition
Cairo ICT 2023 features a range of essential issues in several areas of interest to all parties, foremost of which are artificial intelligence and robotics, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, and generative artificial intelligence, in addition to discussing the developments of ultra-large data center solutions, hybrid cloud solutions, and edge computing.
In addition, seminars and conferences are held to discuss the most prominent and latest issues of cybersecurity and preparedness to face emerging threats in 2024, the resilience of financial institutions in the face of ransomware and incident response, artificial intelligence in banking cybersecurity, electronic signature, and digital solutions in enabling digital transformation, the future of satellite communications, smart cities, and the effects of 5G communications.
The Prime Minister's Speech during the Exhibition
The Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, stressed that the communications and information technology sector is among the priorities of the Egyptian state’s agenda, pointing out the keenness to keep pace with the development of its tools and applications to realize its growing role and impact on various development sectors, always stressing that Egypt’s future represented in this sector as a result of the human resources that Egypt enjoys in this promising field.
He added that this sector is the sector of hope, and that Egypt is achieving rapid growth of about 15% to 20% annually and will achieve more growth in the coming years in light of the whole world talking about artificial intelligence and how to expand the use of many of its applications in various aspects of life. He then drew the attention of the attendees to the fact that the Egyptian youth are considered one of the most essential pillars of this future industry during the coming period.
